Robert Aramayo Won't Confirm Wolverine Casting in MCU X-Men

The actor told Variety he is "scared" of taking on the role and praised Hugh Jackman's Wolverine work, but did not deny the speculation.

Robert Aramayo has addressed speculation that he could play Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's X-Men reboot, declining to confirm or deny the casting in a new interview with Variety. The actor said he was not the first person to suggest the idea, but stopped short of commenting on whether it is true.

Aramayo said he would be scared to take on the role, and praised Hugh Jackman's work as Wolverine. Jackman played the character across team-up and solo films for two decades.

The actor also said he is working on something he cannot talk about. Aramayo and Christopher Abbott, who plays Charles Xavier in the film, share a public relations representative.

Abbott spoke earlier this year about his own Professor X casting, describing it as a bit of a dream and a nightmare. The X-Men ensemble also includes Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Inde Navarette, Samara Weaving, Maya Boyd and Adam Driver, with Ben Wang reported as a contender for Bobby Drake, also known as Iceman.

X-Men is set to open in theaters on May 5, 2028, directed by Jake Schreier.
