Scarlett Johansson Says Batman Role Caused Existential Angst
Johansson told Entertainment Tonight her undisclosed part in The Batman: Part II was hard to crack, while promoting Paper Tiger.
Scarlett Johansson said her undisclosed role in The Batman: Part II was very hard to figure out and gave her a lot of existential angst, according to Variety. She discussed the part in an interview with Entertainment Tonight while promoting her film Paper Tiger.
Johansson said she could not explain why the role was difficult to crack, and declined to give further details. Sebastian Stan and Brian Tyree Henry were confirmed in undisclosed roles alongside her.
In May, director Matt Reeves announced Johansson's casting in a post on X that contained only a GIF from Under the Skin.
Production on The Batman: Part II is currently being led by Steven Soderbergh. Reeves temporarily stepped away from the sequel due to a personal matter. Reeves directed 2022's The Batman, which focused heavily on Robert Pattinson's take on Bruce Wayne.
Last year, Reeves said the sequel would move toward the Rogues Gallery story while keeping Pattinson's Bruce Wayne at the center.
