Selma Blair's Spokesperson Disputes Account of In-Flight Incident

A spokesperson says the actress suffered a medical emergency on an October 11 Delta flight and did not try to open the aircraft door.

Selma Blair's spokesperson issued a statement to People, also shared with Variety, disputing the public account of an in-flight incident on an October 11 Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York. The statement says Blair experienced a medical emergency and did not attempt to open the aircraft door.

The statement adds that Blair did not intend to harm anyone and that she has multiple sclerosis and pseudobulbar affect. It also says authorities took her service dog from her.

Blair was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 11 after the incident. She was charged with second-degree assault and held by police at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Blair posted $20,000 bail by credit card and was released that evening.
