Seven Actors Join Gina Rodriguez's Directorial Debut 'The House of Guerrero'

Seven actors have joined the cast of The House of Guerrero, the feature film directorial debut of Gina Rodriguez. Lisa Vidal, Aaron Dominguez, Jesse Garcia, Edwin Hodge, Emilio Rivera, Adam Rodriguez, and Javon Walton are the latest additions to the ensemble, as reported by Deadline.

Production is currently underway in Los Angeles and California's Imperial Valley. The previously announced cast is led by Carlos Sanson Jr., alongside Rosario Dawson, George Lopez, and Gina Rodriguez.

Vidal will play Tia Lupe, Alex Guerrero's aunt, while Rivera will play Tio Turi, Alex's uncle and Tia Lupe's husband. Dominguez will play Perico, one of Alex's friends in El Centro. Garcia will play Diego, Alex's therapist. Hodge will play Malcolm, the manager of Club Crave. Adam Rodriguez will play Ruben Chapa, a trainer at the local El Centro boxing gym. Walton will play Alex in his earlier years.

The film's original story, by Gina Rodriguez and Bernardo Cubría, follows Alex Guerrero, whose boxing career is cut short before he gets one last shot at stepping back into the ring with his ex-fighter father Alejandro in his corner.

The film is produced by Scott Budnick and Ameet Shukla from 1Community, Gina Rodriguez's I Can And I Will Productions with Molly Breeskin, and Justin Baldoni and Calof from Wayfarer. Wayfarer Studios, 1Community, HarbourView Media Group and LoCicero are co-financing the feature with tax credit financing provided by Three Point Capital. UTA Independent Film Group is representing the film for worldwide sales.
