Simon Pegg has joined Paul Giamatti in the horror film Boutique, and Manifest Pictures has taken over international sales rights to the project ahead of the American Film Market, replacing XYZ. UTA Independent Film Group will represent domestic rights, according to deadline.com.
In the film, Giamatti plays an American tourist who visits an eerie English seaside town tied to his favourite reclusive author, played by Pegg, and encounters a murderous secret society.
Boutique marks the feature film directorial debut of Jim Gavin. Giamatti and Dan Carey will produce through Touchy Feely Films, alongside Chris Dodds, Charlie Alderman and Greg Field for Prospect, and James Harris and Mark Lane for Tea Shop Productions. Prospect is financing the film, with Jacob Jaffke serving as executive producer.
