Skydance Confirms JB Perrette for DTC and TV Roles Ahead of $110 Billion WBD Deal

Perrette will oversee distribution, ad sales and DTC strategy at Skydance, with the Warner Bros. Discovery deal set to close Tuesday morning.

Skydance confirmed JB Perrette as Co-Chair & Chief Business Officer of Skydance DTC and Co-Chair & Chief Business Officer of Skydance TV, according to deadline.com, as the company prepares to close its $110 billion deal for Warner Bros. Discovery. The transaction is due to close Tuesday morning.

Upon closing, Perrette will have direct global oversight of distribution, advertising sales, content sales, DTC strategy, marketing and business operations. He will join Co-CEOs David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz at a press conference on the Paramount lot.

Perrette comes to the role after serving at Warner Bros. Discovery as head of global streaming and gaming, where he led the global rollout of HBO Max across more than 130 markets. The WBD streaming business turned profitable during his tenure, and he presided with David Zaslav over the rebrand of HBO Max to Max in 2023. The service reverted to its original name in 2025.

Earlier in his career, Perrette was head of digital at Discovery, where he helped launch Eurosport's streaming service as well as Discovery+. During an 11-year run at NBCUniversal, he rose to president of digital and affiliate distribution and helped launch Hulu in 2007.

In March 2026, an SEC filing said Perrette would receive $142 million in various deal-related proceeds. Gerry Cardinale noted last week that efforts to merge the back ends and tech stacks of Paramount+, Pluto and BET+ have borne fruit.
