Tubi will offer The Social Network for free streaming starting October 1, just over a week before its standalone sequel, The Social Reckoning, hits theaters on October 9. The 2010 film, directed by David Fincher, runs 121 minutes and earned eight Oscar nominations, winning three.
The Social Reckoning is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and stars Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg. Jesse Eisenberg, who played Zuckerberg in the original, declined an offer to return for the sequel.
Andrew Garfield, who played Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network, is also attached to star in Artificial, a biopic of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The streaming availability gives audiences a chance to revisit the original before the new chapter arrives in cinemas.
