Edgar Wright Says Spaced Blu-ray Made Without Show's Creators
The director said on X he first learned of All3Media's 4K Blu-ray set, due February 27, from the announcement itself.
Edgar Wright has said he was not involved in the new Spaced Blu-ray collection and learned of it only when it was announced. The set, from distributor All3Media, is scheduled for release on February 27, according to joblo.com.
In a post on X, Wright, who directed every episode of the British series, said the release was not authorized by anyone involved in making the show. He added that he had been pushing for a Spaced Blu-ray for years.
All3Media's announcement describes a 4K master produced with a mix of traditional and algorithmic tools alongside frame-by-frame manual work.
Fourteen episodes, no prior Blu-ray
Spaced was created by and starred Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson and ran for two seasons totalling fourteen episodes. The show previously received an extras-loaded DVD release but no Blu-ray. It was shot on old Sony DV cameras.
