Terminator Genisys Set to Leave Free Streaming on Tubi in the US
The 2015 sequel, the franchise's second-biggest box office hit with $440 million worldwide, will soon depart free streaming in the United States.
Terminator Genisys is set to leave free streaming in the United States, according to Collider. The 2015 film has been available to watch at no cost on Tubi, and its departure removes one of the franchise's later entries from free access in the US market.
The film grossed $440 million worldwide against a reported $155 million budget, making it the second-biggest box office hit in the series.
The Terminator franchise began in 1984 with The Terminator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by James Cameron. Schwarzenegger and Cameron later reunited for Terminator 2: Judgment Day, while Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines arrived in the early 2000s without Cameron's involvement.
Terminator Genisys went into production in 2015 with what its star described as a subpar script. The most recent reboot attempt came in 2019, marketed as a homecoming for the franchise's creator but failing at the box office despite mostly positive reviews.
