The Coven has acquired worldwide rights to The Only One, the slasher directorial debut of Michael Schwarz, Deadline reported. The deal was closed ahead of the film's premiere at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.
The Only One stars Mel Jarnson as Zoe and Saphira Moran as Piper. The film was written by Marek Polgar and Martyn Pedler and directed by Michael Schwarz. John Schwarz produces, with Australian company Three777 Films serving as executive producers.
The Coven's genre slate
The acquisition follows a run of genre titles for The Coven, which handled worldwide sales on Terrifier 2 and produced and sold Terrifier 3. More recently, the company boarded Sunnyside, a dark cannibalism horror currently shooting in France. The Coven is female-owned and co-founded and led by Priscilla Ross Smith and Kendall Anlian.
The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival runs from October 15 to 22, where The Only One is set to premiere.
