Disney Sets January 29, 2027 Re-Release of The Prestige

The 20th-anniversary run marks the first time Christopher Nolan's 2006 film will screen in 70mm and on Imax.

Disney has scheduled a January 29, 2027 re-release of Christopher Nolan's The Prestige to mark the film's 20th anniversary, according to Variety. The run will include the first 70mm and Imax screenings the film has ever had.

Nolan said he is excited to bring the film back to the big screen and to offer 70mm and Imax screenings for the first time.

"The Prestige" was originally released on October 20, 2006. It follows a decades-long rivalry between two stage magicians played by Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman.

Nolan co-wrote the film with his brother Jonathan Nolan and produced it with Emma Thomas and Aaron Ryder. It earned $100 million at the global box office and was nominated for two Oscars.

Large-format push

In the two decades since the film's release, Nolan has driven interest in large-format filmmaking through films such as Oppenheimer and The Odyssey.
