Tokyo Drift to Leave Netflix in November 2026
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Justin Lin's franchise debut, will exit Netflix in November 2026, Collider reports.
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is set to leave Netflix in November 2026, according to Collider. The third film in the Fast & Furious series will depart the streaming service that month.
Released in 2006, Tokyo Drift stood apart from the rest of the franchise: it did not feature Paul Walker or Vin Diesel in lead roles. It was also the series' lowest-grossing entry, according to the report.
The film marked the franchise debut of director Justin Lin. He went on to direct four more installments before abruptly quitting the 10th movie, Fast X, due to an on-set dispute. Universal brought in Louis Leterrier to replace him while Fast X was already in production.
A franchise nearing its finish
Fast X's behind-the-scenes issues and its large ensemble cast pushed its budget to around $380 million. The studio reportedly needs the cost of the final installment to be drastically reduced before greenlighting it, especially as the series has seen declining returns in recent years.
The franchise finale is currently set for April 2027.
