The 39th Tokyo International Film Festival has announced its complete program, setting a 15-film main competition at the center of this year's edition. Seven of those competition titles will hold their world premieres in Tokyo, while eight will make their Asian debuts.
The festival's Asian Future section will present 10 titles, eight of them world premieres, giving the program a strong showcase for new work from the region.
The 39th edition runs October 26 to November 4 in Tokyo. The full lineup was reported by Variety.
Previously announced slots
As previously announced, Zeze Takahisa's Sukiyaki will open the festival, and Yeon Sang-ho's Colony will close it with a Japanese premiere. Yamazaki Takashi's Godzilla Minus Zero was also previously set as the centerpiece.
