Cruise's Jack Reacher Films Hit Prime Video, Chart Alongside Ritchson's Reacher

Tom Cruise's Jack Reacher films have joined Prime Video, and they are already making an impression on the platform's charts. According to screenrant.com, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is ranked No. 4 on Prime Video's Top 10 Movies in the United States, while Cruise's first Jack Reacher adaptation sits at No. 7 on the same list.

The movies are not the only Reacher titles performing well. Alan Ritchson's Reacher series is ranked No. 3 on Prime Video's Top 10 Overall chart and No. 2 on the Top 10 TV Shows chart. Meanwhile, the Neagley spinoff, led by Maria Sten, holds the No. 1 spot on both the Top 10 Overall and Top 10 TV Shows charts.

A franchise with two faces

Cruise first played Jack Reacher in 2012's Jack Reacher, an adaptation of Lee Child's novel One Shot, which grossed over $218 million against a $60 million budget. The 2016 sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, was released to lower reviews and box office returns.

After a third film stalled in development, Alan Ritchson took over the role for Prime Video's Reacher series. The show has been renewed through season 6, and the Maria Sten-led Neagley spinoff recently launched and held the No. 1 spot on Prime Video for two weeks.

As of 2020, there were also plans for an R-rated Jack Reacher adaptation. For now, both versions of the character are sharing space on Prime Video's charts.
