Adeyemi Vows No More Adaptations After 'Children of Blood and Bone'
Tomi Adeyemi says she will never adapt another book after the 'Children of Blood and Bone' film left her sobbing on set. The movie opens Jan. 15.
Tomi Adeyemi says she will never turn another of her books into a movie. In an interview with The Guardian, the author described the making of the Children of Blood and Bone adaptation as deeply distressing, saying she was left hyperventilating and sobbing on set.
Adeyemi also said she still does not plan to watch the finished film, and in late July she posted a TikTok video speaking out against the movie.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Children of Blood and Bone features a large ensemble cast including Thuso Mbedu, Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Idris Elba and Viola Davis.
The film is set to hit theaters on Jan. 15.
