VisionQuest Pilot Introduces Paladin, Bounty Hunter Hired to Capture Vision

Todd Stashwick plays Paladin, a centuries-old line of hunters who takes Tommy hostage in the Disney+ series' pilot.

Marvel's VisionQuest introduced Paladin, played by Todd Stashwick, as a bounty hunter hired to hunt and capture Paul Bettany's synthezoid Vision, in the Disney+ series' pilot, according to comingsoon.net.

Paladin debuts after a failed ambush on Vision kills Vision's friend Fiona. He executes the sniper responsible for her death, enforcing his "no civilians" rule, and is hired by a mysterious Client to bring in Vision. Dianne Morgan plays Paladin's handler, while Ultron secretly communicates with him behind the scenes.

In the pilot, Paladin reaches Vision's son Tommy first and holds him hostage at Saint Mabyns, an insane asylum. F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s investigation reveals Paladin is the last in a centuries-long line of hunters. At Saint Mabyns, Paladin critically wounds Vision with adamantium shotgun rounds before his weapon jams; Vision gathers enough strength to send Paladin flying, though the character will likely return.

In Marvel comics, Paladin first appeared in a 1978 issue of Daredevil under the name Paul Denning. He later joined the teams Heroes for Hire and Thunderbolts.

VisionQuest marks Paladin's first live-action appearance after a cameo in the 2017 animated Spider-Man series.
