Voicemod Signs Disney Licensing Deal for Star Wars Soundboards
The first two packs under the agreement draw on The Mandalorian and Grogu, with Marvel-themed boards covered by the deal but not yet released.
Voicemod announced a licensing agreement with Disney on Friday that allows the company to sell soundboards featuring prerecorded quotes and sound effects from Star Wars and Marvel properties, according to comingsoon.net.
The first two packs released under the deal are based on Star Wars, featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu. Each pack costs $9.99, or $7.99 for premium subscribers, and includes 20 audio clips.
The clips can be triggered while gaming or streaming on services such as Twitch and Discord. Voicemod says its platform has 5.7 million monthly active users.
Marvel-themed soundboards fall within the scope of the agreement, though the company has not said when those packs will follow.
Earlier Disney AI Licensing
In the previous year, Disney agreed to invest $1 billion in OpenAI and license select characters for its Sora video generator, a deal that ended earlier this year when OpenAI shut the project down.
