Verity Theater Count Falls to 1,830 as It Hits PVOD

The Anne Hathaway thriller, now available at home, dropped roughly 1,700 theaters in two weeks in its fifth week of release, according to Collider.

The Anne Hathaway thriller Verity is now available on PVOD and at-home viewing, and its theatrical footprint has shrunk to 1,830 theaters in its fifth week of release, according to Collider. That marks an overall decrease of around 1,700 theaters in two weeks; the count had already been cut to 2,442 before the latest trim.

The film opened in 3,510 theaters and grossed more than $30 million domestically. It is based on the bestseller by Colleen Hoover and stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett alongside Hathaway.

Verity has grossed roughly half of the total of the It Ends With Us film adaptation, which also drew on a Hoover novel. That earlier adaptation, starring Blake Lively, debuted a couple of years ago and performed as a box office hit.

Separately, The End of Oak Street grossed around $120 million worldwide against a reported $80 million budget in a prior release. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has not yet been released.
