Disney+ Takes UK Second Window for The Walsh Sisters

Cineflix Rights brokered the Disney+ deal and new sales to Nordic broadcasters, Pickbox, Yes and Roku's Howdy.

Disney+ has acquired second window rights to The Walsh Sisters in the UK and will launch the series after its run on the BBC, according to Deadline. Cineflix Rights, which distributes the show, brokered the deal.

The same round of sales brought the series to TV2 in Norway, TV4 in Sweden and MTV Oy in Finland. Pickbox acquired it for the Balkans and Yes acquired it for Israel.

Stan was already on board for Australia, and Roku's Howdy streaming service previously acquired the show for the U.S.

Season 1 of The Walsh Sisters was RTÉ's highest-rated drama of the past two years. The BBC and RTÉ have greenlit a second season, which is in production.

The series is based on the books by Marian Keyes, with Stefanie Preissner adapting them for the screen. The cast includes five actresses playing the sisters, with Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley playing their father and mother.
