The Remarried Empress Exhibition Opens October 30 at Mario Outlet in Seoul

The immersive show runs through December 24 with costume displays and XR palace zones, ahead of the Disney+ series premiere on November 4.

An immersive special exhibition titled “The Remarried Empress: Invitation to the Imperial Palace” opens on October 30 at Mario Outlet in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, and runs through December 24, according to joynews24.com. The show is built around “The Remarried Empress,” the romance fantasy work that Disney+ is adapting into a series.

The exhibition is divided into four themed zones: an exhibition zone, a costume zone, a photo zone and an XR content zone. The exhibition zone presents original sketches and previously unreleased original artwork.

In the costume zone, visitors can see recreated imperial outfits for Navier, Heinley, Sovieshu and Rashta. In the XR content zone, visitors wear dedicated devices and move through virtual imperial palace spaces, including the banquet hall, Navier's room and the imperial court.

The Disney+ original series “The Remarried Empress,” starring Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young, premieres on November 4.

From web novel to screen

“The Remarried Empress” began as a romance fantasy web novel about Empress Navier, who chooses to remarry Prince Heinley of the neighbouring Western Kingdom after her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, announces a divorce. The web novel was adapted into a webtoon starting in 2019 and gained a large readership in Korea and abroad.
