Eddy Cinéma Pitches Animated Feature 'Wilderness of the Greenriver' at TCCF

Director Ellis Kayin Chan's film, about a man who learns a patient is the sister he lost, is seeking Asian co-production partners.

Paris-based Eddy Cinéma is producing 'Wilderness of the Greenriver', an animated feature directed by Ellis Kayin Chan, which is being presented at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest in Taipei, according to Variety. The team is at the market seeking co-production partners in Asia, animation studios, and distributors and sales companies.

The film follows a man named Arin who learns that a patient named Zia is the sister he lost, in a world where technology can erase painful memories. Nicolas de Rosanbo, a founding member of Eddy Cinéma, serves as executive producer.

Chan is developing the treatment into a screenplay with writer Clément Roussier, with the script targeted for completion in early 2027. Storyboard, casting and editing are planned to wrap by early 2028, with animation running from 2028 into 2029. A theatrical release is planned for 2030.

Earlier recognition for the project

In 2025, the project won the top award at Taipei's Golden Horse Film Project Promotion (FPP). At Annecy this year, it picked up awards from Ciclic, SACD and Titra in the feature pitches, and a three-minute proof of concept was made with support from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

Eddy Cinéma co-produced Louis Clichy's 'Iron Boy', which won a Special Jury Prize in Cannes' Un Certain Regard section and the jury and audience awards at Annecy this year. Chan recently worked as animation supervisor on 'Lost in Starlight', Netflix's first Korean animated feature.

TCCF runs Nov. 6–9 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center and is organized by TAICCA.
