Wim Wenders has joined the documentary Truth:Beauty as executive producer, according to Variety. The feature documentary centers on photographer Peter Lindbergh and will be the feature directorial debut of French novelist Alexandra Matine, who is also writing the film.

The project is being developed in partnership with the Peter Lindbergh Foundation. Principal photography on Truth:Beauty is expected to begin before the end of the year. The film is produced by Human Humans in association with Composite Films.

Wenders' latest documentary, From Inside Out, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. He won the Palme d'Or at Cannes for Paris, Texas and the best director prize at Cannes for Wings of Desire, and he won the Golden Lion at Venice for The State of Things. He has earned four Oscar nominations, including three in the documentary feature category for Buena Vista Social Club, Pina and The Salt of the Earth.

Lindbergh died in 2019 at the age of 74. His 1993 Harper's Bazaar editorial 'City of Angels' was directly inspired by Wenders' Wings of Desire.
