1Password for Agents lets AI agents log in without the password
The platform uses a unique digital key and requires user approval on a trusted device before an agent can access an account.
1Password announced 1Password for Agents, a platform that lets AI agents sign in to user accounts without receiving the actual password, according to techradar.com. The company said the agent identifies itself to 1Password with a unique digital key, and the user must approve the login request on a trusted device.
Under the system, plaintext credentials and one-time codes are not shared with the AI agent. 1Password's Chief Product Officer Aashish Tripathi outlined the rollout as part of the announcement.
