Advantech launches EN 50155-certified 20-port railway switch

The EKI-9520G series offers IP67 protection on all ports and push-pull M12 connectors, with the L3 model due in December.

Advantech has announced the launch of the EKI-9520G series, an EN 50155-certified 20-port Ethernet switch designed for railway vehicle networks, according to datanet.co.kr.

The series is available in L2 and L3 models and uses push-pull M12 connectors compliant with IEC 61076-2-010, which allow tool-free installation. All ports carry IP67 dust and water protection. A built-in real-time temperature monitoring sensor lets operators view readings on a management dashboard.

Advantech says the switch meets EN 50155 railway standards covering fire safety, shock, vibration and electromagnetic compatibility, and complies with the IEC 61375-3-4 Ethernet Consist Network standard for interoperability between onboard equipment from different manufacturers. Cybersecurity features referencing IEC 62443-4-2 requirements are included.

PoE models support IEEE 802.3af/at on up to 16 ports with a PoE power budget of up to 120W. The power input range is 24–110VDC, with an operating input voltage range of 16.8–137.5VDC.

The L2 model is being offered first, with the L3 model scheduled for release in December. Advantech's EN 50155-certified M12 Ethernet switch lineup already includes products ranging from 8 to 28 ports.
