Amazon Renames Kindle Unlimited to Kindle+, Adds More Audiobooks

The $12 monthly subscription keeps its 20-title borrowing limit, and existing reading history, bookmarks and notes carry over automatically.

Amazon has renamed its Kindle Unlimited subscription service to Kindle+, the company told subscribers in an email. The service is available now and works through the Kindle app and on Kindle hardware.

Kindle+ includes thousands more audiobooks than Kindle Unlimited did. Reading history, bookmarks, notes and saved titles carry over to the renamed service.

The price is unchanged at $12 per month, and subscribers can still borrow up to 20 titles at a time.

Amazon is also now letting self-published authors on Kindle Direct Publishing include their audiobooks in the service. Separately, the company is testing a service that generates audiobooks read by a virtual voice.
