Analogue Announces Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ FPGA Consoles at $220
Analogue's new Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ play original SNES and Genesis cartridges and open for preorder on October 19.
Analogue announced the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+, two FPGA-based consoles that play original Super Nintendo and Genesis cartridges natively, according to gizmodo.com. Each console is priced at $220.
Preorders for both consoles open on October 19. Buyers can choose from a few front plate colors.
Both consoles include a built-in 2.4GHz receiver compatible with several 8BitDo controllers and arcade sticks, plus Bluetooth compatibility. Each unit has two original controller ports, a USB-C port and a USB-A port on the rear.
Analogue says each console runs an Altera Cyclone V FPGA chip, upscales retro games to 1080p and supports widescreen with the traditional 8:7 aspect ratio. The company claims the consoles support 100% of games released for both SNES and Genesis, including PAL and NTSC versions.
Background
