Apple Updates Final Cut Camera for iPhone 18 Pro Aperture

Apple has released an update to Final Cut Camera that supports the variable aperture and new camera settings on the iPhone 18 Pro, according to engadget.com. The app was redesigned to accommodate the new controls that appear on Apple's Pro phones, with easier access to ISO and white balance and a two-finger tap to clear the screen.

Aperture adjustments and other settings in Final Cut Camera can be controlled remotely from a nearby iPad or Mac through Final Cut Pro. Final Cut Pro and Motion also now support editing the depth of field and focus points of video shot on the iPhone 18 Pro.

Alongside the camera app, Apple is rolling out updates to Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Freeform and Pixelmator Pro for Creator Studio subscribers, including new templates and themes. Keynote gains the ability to automatically generate images that match a presentation slide's content, while the subscription-only iPad version of Pixelmator Pro picks up the Select and Mask tools from the Mac version.

Non-subscribers also get new features: requesting access to view or edit a shared file in Pages, Numbers, Keynote and Freeform; a Screen View option in Pages; new trigonometry, statistics and logic functions in Numbers; dark mode adaptation and collections in Freeform; and full Apple Intelligence Writing Tools support in Freeform.

The updates are rolling out today, with some features requiring specific hardware or a subscription. Earlier this month, Apple touted the capabilities of the iPhone 18 Pro's variable aperture when it announced the phone.
