Apple Hires Meta Litigation Chief Scott Tucker as VP

Apple has hired Scott Tucker, Meta's former deputy general counsel and litigation chief, for a newly created legal leadership role, according to Bloomberg.

Apple has hired Scott Tucker, Meta's former deputy general counsel and litigation chief, as its vice president of global litigation and financial services, according to Bloomberg. The position is newly created at Apple.

Tucker will oversee commercial and patent litigation worldwide, along with legal matters involving Apple's financial offerings. Heather Grenier, Apple's vice president of commercial and competition litigation, will now report to Tucker instead of directly to general counsel Jennifer Newstead, while retaining her place on Newstead's legal leadership team.

Apple is also expanding the responsibilities of legal executive Kyle Andeer, who will now oversee international legal matters and functions involving online child safety, cybersecurity and law enforcement.

Legal Leadership Overhaul Continues

The hiring follows a series of changes in Apple's legal and government affairs divisions. Earlier in 2026, Meta's former chief legal officer Jennifer Newstead joined Apple as general counsel, replacing longtime executive Kate Adams. Newstead's responsibilities later expanded to include government affairs following the retirement of Lisa Jackson, who had previously oversaw the division. As part of the reorganization, Apple also hired former American Airlines executive Nate Gatten as its vice president of government affairs.

Tucker joined Meta in 2021 and previously held a senior legal position at Morgan Stanley.
