Apple says iPhone Duo preorder demand extraordinary
Apple did not disclose figures for its first foldable iPhone, which starts at $1,999, as analysts offer differing 2027 sales estimates.
Apple said preorder demand for its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, is extraordinary, without disclosing figures. The company said it is working to deliver the new product to customers as quickly as possible and will keep taking online orders, according to ZDNet Korea.
The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999. Apple has not released official sales figures for the device.
Dan Ives, a Wall Street tech analyst, said preorders have begun and the early response is strong, with demand far exceeding supply. He projected sales of about 10 million iPhone Duo units over the coming quarters and up to 25 million units in 2027.
Bloomberg Intelligence analysts Anurag Rana and Josh Christensen estimated 14 million iPhone Duo units and $28 billion in revenue for Apple's fiscal 2027, and said actual results could exceed that.
The firm also said moving iPhone Pro and Pro Max users to the base iPhone Duo would raise per-device selling price by 82% and 67% respectively.
