Away Launches Series 3 Luggage and Signature Bag Line
Away's third-generation Series 3 luggage drops the ejectable battery, adds StopLock Brakes and improved wheels, and comes in new colors.
Away has launched the Series 3, its third-generation luggage line, in Classic and Flex styles. The Series 3 no longer includes the ejectable portable battery. Away also unveiled the Signature series, a new collection of bags that includes a tote, weekender, commuter backpack, duffle, and underseat bags.
The Series 3 brings several hardware updates. Away added an extra ball bearing and improved threading to the WhisperGlide 360 spinning wheels. The company also brought its StopLock Brakes system to the Series 3, and the Infinite Height Trolley handle now offers five times more stopping points than before.
The Series 3 comes in purple (Electric Iris), chocolate, and chartreuse in addition to standard colors. The Series 3 Classic is available in carry-on, bigger carry-on, medium, large, and trunk sizes. The Series 3 Flex is available in the same sizes except trunk.
The launch marks a shift for Away, which first went viral in 2016 with its Carry On suitcase, known for its polycarbonate design and ejectable portable battery. That battery has not been available in Away luggage since 2023. Away's StopLock Brakes system was first introduced in its top-opening TopSide luggage.
