CueFlip app turns sheet music pages by listening to players

The indie app, built by a 15-year-old classical guitarist in Beijing, is free on the App Store with a $4.99 monthly Pro tier.

CueFlip, an app that turns sheet music pages automatically by listening to the performer, launched on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, 9to5Mac reported on November 7, 2026. It works by tracking the player's position in a score through audio.

Users teach the app their page turns during a live rehearsal or from a shared recording, then mark the turns themselves. CueFlip also supports manual Bluetooth page turners.

The app includes a built-in music dictionary with more than 20,000 terms, translated into up to 13 languages, and can pull terms from scanned scores. Using Face ID, players can turn pages forward with a right-eye wink and backward with a left-eye wink.

CueFlip is a free download for iPhone and iPad running iOS and iPadOS 16.4 or later. The free version includes PDFs with annotations and automatic page turning for one score. CueFlip Pro costs $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year and unlocks unlimited page turning, the music dictionary, wink-to-turn and more.

Rebuilt after a failed first attempt

The developer, Yuze Pan, a 15-year-old classical guitarist from Beijing who plays in the Primal Guitar Quartet, first tried to build the app in 2025 but the attempt did not work. In May 2026 he started again by reading research on audio alignment and brought each new build to the quartet's daily rehearsals.
