Deezer to Add Toggle Filtering Out AI-Generated Music

Deezer will roll out an AI music filter by year's end, as it reports 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks uploaded daily.

Deezer announced it will add a toggle that lets listeners completely filter out AI-generated music, with the feature set to arrive on the app by the end of the year.

CEO Alexis Lanternier said there is clear user demand for the ability to filter out AI-generated music. The company stated the risk of a false positive in its AI music detection is very low.

Deezer said 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks are uploaded to the platform each day, and that AI-generated tracks uploaded have totaled more than 42 million. It also said up to 85 percent of streams for AI-generated songs were fraudulent.

According to Engadget, the move follows earlier industry steps on AI labeling. In October 2026, Deezer announced the AI music filter toggle via its news account. Deezer also conducted a study suggesting nearly half of all music streaming users would like AI-generated music completely gone from their feeds, and last year reported that around 18 percent of tracks uploaded to the app were AI-generated.

Deezer launched one of the industry's first AI music detection tools, which it has since offered to loan to rival streaming platforms. YouTube Music recently launched a label that accompanies AI-generated tracks, and Spotify does something similar on AI artist pages.
