Dongyang Life launches AI cyber crisis committee, consumer protection body

Dongyang Life formed a board-level financial consumer protection committee and activated a CEO-led crisis team to counter AI-based cyberattacks.

Dongyang Life Insurance has established a Financial Consumer Protection Committee under its board of directors this year, and has activated a crisis response committee chaired by its CEO to counter AI-driven cyberattacks, according to bloter.net.

The insurer has also been blocking overseas IP access to its internal network and key service touchpoints as part of its response measures.

The crisis response committee places the company's top executive at the head of its incident response structure, while the newly created board committee adds a dedicated consumer protection channel at the governance level.

In December last year, the company obtained ISMS-P certification, the information security and personal data protection management system. The same year, Dongyang Life ran cyber breach response consulting with key executives and department heads, producing a company-wide response manual and tabletop simulation drills.
