Elorian Releases First AI Model Glimpse as Research Preview
Palo Alto startup Elorian launched Glimpse with API access, a waitlist chat, and pricing of $0.60 per million input tokens and $3 per million output tokens.
Elorian released its first AI model, Glimpse, on Friday as a research preview, according to techcrunch.com. The launch includes API access and a chat interface that is available by waitlist only.
Elorian says Glimpse can crop into a region, pull specific frames from a video, and run code to measure or compare images mid-reasoning — a mechanism the company calls a visual scratch space.
Glimpse is priced at $0.60 per million input tokens and $3 per million output tokens. According to Elorian's evaluations, it outperforms GPT-6 Astra on scientific chart reasoning and short-form video captioning. Initial target customers are robotics firms, scientific labs, media and creative companies.
Before launching a product, Elorian raised a $55 million seed round at a $300 million valuation. The company came out of stealth six months ago with a round co-led by Striker Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures and Altimeter Capital, with participation from Nvidia and Google chief scientist Jeff Dean. Elorian is led by CEO Andrew Dai, a former Google DeepMind researcher.
Dai has described a visual reasoning gap the company wants to close: last year he photographed a board game and asked a frontier model who was winning, and it could not say. OpenAI added crop-and-zoom during reasoning to its o-series models in 2025. Next year, Dai said, Elorian aims to build the world's best visual reasoning model, one that leads on every visual reasoning test.
