Escrcpy v3.3.1 makes all existing features free to use

Version 3.3.1 of the Android control app drops purchase and licence checks for current features; a new payment system is planned for v4.0.0.

Escrcpy, the Electron-based GUI app for controlling Android devices from a PC, was updated to v3.3.1 on October 10 (Japan time), according to forest.watch.impress.co.jp. In this version, all existing features can be used free of charge, without purchase, activation or licence authentication.

The developer, viarotel-org, describes free access to the current feature set in v3.3.1 as a long-term policy for this version rather than a limited-time campaign.

Rights purchased under the old payment system are not automatically carried over to the new payment system, which is planned for v4.0.0 and later.

Users on older versions advised to update

Users still on v3.2.0 or earlier are warned of possible licence authentication problems or features not working correctly, and are advised to update to v3.3.1 as soon as possible.

One feature retains its own requirements: the Copilot AI agent needs users to configure their own API key, endpoint and model from a supported AI model provider.

Escrcpy is a graphical front end for the command-line tool scrcpy. Its source code is published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 licence, and Windows, Mac and Linux binaries can be downloaded free from its GitHub releases page.
