FCCL chief rates first half of fiscal 2026 at 70 points

FCCL's president outlined second-half strategy after first-half sales and profit fell year on year, with new FMV winter models built around Copilot+ PCs.

FCCL's president said the company scored the first half of fiscal 2026 at 70 points out of 100, in an interview reported by pc.watch.impress.co.jp, and set out the company's strategy for the second half of the year. Sales and profit in the first half of fiscal 2026 fell below the same period of fiscal 2025, the president said, while the company kept the top share in the consumer PC market in that half.

FCCL announced its 2026 winter model lineup in October 2026. All FMV Note A models in the lineup are Copilot+ PCs, and the winter models standard-install updated FMV apps including Reclip and Quick Capture, which use the NPU. FMV Note U models in the lineup use Intel, AMD and Qualcomm chips and offer Copilot+ PC options.

Three mobile notebook lines

FCCL targets its mobile notebooks through three lines: FMV Note U, FMV Note C and FMV Note M. In fiscal 2025 (April 2025 to March 2026), FMV took the top share in the storefront PC market for the third consecutive year and won the top share of Japan's overall consumer PC market including web sales for the first time. FMV's mobile notebook sales volume in the consumer market grew about 1.6 times, or 63%, compared with fiscal 2021.

In January 2025, FCCL launched FMV Note C, a mobile notebook aimed at younger users, and in January 2026 it released its first Snapdragon X-equipped FMV Note U. The company switched its core systems from a Fujitsu-based system to a Lenovo Group system in May 2026.
