macOS 27.3 brings Live Activities to all supported Macs

Apple says the feature appears as a small bubble at the top of the screen, letting users track timers, orders and screen recording status.

Apple has released macOS 27.3, an update that brings Live Activities to every Mac capable of running it, according to appleinsider.com. The feature had previously been limited to the iPhone and iPad.

On the Mac, Live Activities appear as a small bubble at the top of the screen. Users can follow timers, orders and screen recording status from that position without opening the associated app.

Apple's press release states that users can accept an AirDrop request or pause a song with a tap of their finger through Live Activities.

The feature first reached the Mac on October 28, when Apple announced the PROLED MacBook Pro. Dynamic Island may remain exclusive to that model, while the new update extends Live Activities to the wider Mac line.
