final unveils DTAS DAC mini for wired earphones at Autumn Headphone Festival 2026
The DAC extends final's head-scan DTAS tuning to wired models, starting with the E500 and VR3000, with a release targeted within the year.
final showed the DTAS DAC mini, a DAC that brings its DTAS personal optimization feature to wired earphones, at its booth at the Autumn Headphone Festival 2026 on November 7, according to av.watch.impress.co.jp. The company aims to release the product within the year at an expected price of around 5,000-6,000 yen.
The DTAS DAC mini is initially compatible with the E500 and VR3000 earphones. DTAS builds a sound profile by scanning the user's head, ears and shoulders with a smartphone camera while the user wears a dedicated headband. A new app simplifies the scan so that users move their head slowly, similar to registering face authentication on a smartphone.
final said the DTAS DAC mini's profile is tuned with emphasis on ASMR and spatial expression. DTAS previously worked with the TONARITE true wireless earphones, and the earlier scan procedure required turning right and stopping, then turning left and stopping. TONARITE created profiles aimed at audio, while the new DAC uses tuning focused on ASMR and spatial expression.
PORTA shown at an audio event for the first time
final also gave the first audio-event showing of PORTA, an approximately 40 g ultra-light on-ear wireless headphone that is already on sale. PORTA has an Air wire structure in the headband and a USB-C charging port on each side.
The booth offered listening sessions for the crowd-funded ZE3000 ASMR for TINGLE and VR3000 PRO for Gaming, and allowed visitors to try the DX10000CL without an advance reservation.
DITA exhibited the on-ear earphone KA1 and the mid-range model Destin for the first time in Japan. KA1 has no set release date and is planned at around 45,000 yen, with a USB-C plug cable, MMCX connectors and a 2-pin socket on the earphone side. Destin is expected to go on sale within the year at a planned price of under 400,000 yen, and uses the same single dynamic driver configuration and technology as the flagship VENTURE.
