Financial Security Institute's AI App Security Tool Presented at ISSTA 2026
The institute's AI-based risk detection technology analyzed 50 real mobile apps and identified 17 security vulnerabilities, according to dailysecu.com.
The Financial Security Institute announced that its AI-based mobile app security risk detection technology was accepted to ISSTA 2026 and presented at the conference, according to dailysecu.com.
The research was selected as a regular paper in June of this year after multiple rounds of review.
Song Seong-hyun, a team leader at the Financial Security Institute, was the first author of the research. The researchers presented the results at the conference held in California, USA, from October 4 to 9.
The technology analyzes not only mobile app source code but also runtime behavior and information flows to detect security risks. The researchers tested it on 50 real mobile apps and found 17 security vulnerabilities.
The Financial Security Institute plans to develop an AI-based inspection framework and apply it to real mobile app security inspections in the financial sector.
Park Sang-won, president of the Financial Security Institute, said the achievement demonstrates in-house expertise in security threat research and detection technology.
