FloppoScope brings floppy disk image analysis to the browser
The tool maps disk layouts, previews files and reports bad sectors, supporting formats from PC and Amiga to BBC Micro and NeXTSTEP.
Developer 0ldStaph has released FloppoScope, a browser-based tool for analyzing floppy disk images, according to Hackaday. The analyzer runs entirely locally in the browser, so images are processed on the user's own machine.
FloppoScope draws a color-coded map of the disk layout and displays file system data for the loaded image. It can also preview common file types and convert images between formats, and it reports on any bad sectors and corrupted files it detects.
The tool covers a broad range of retro disk formats: PC, Apple, Amiga, Atari DOS, BBC Micro, Sharp MZ and NeXTSTEP. It works with both image files and flux files, according to Hackaday.
FloppoScope is available to use in the browser.
