Genon launches GenGuard as Korean firms target AI guardrail market

GenGuard lets companies set AI policies in natural language without retraining the model, as Aim Intelligence, Raonsecure and SelectStar push their own tools.

Genon has launched GenGuard, a standalone AI guardrail solution that until now was a feature inside the company's generative AI platform Genos, according to aitimes.com. The product lets companies define policies in natural language — such as blocking recommendations of individual stocks — without retraining the model.

Genon is one of several Korean solution companies moving into the AI guardrail market. Aim Intelligence is targeting the segment with two products: Starfort, a real-time AI guardrail, and Stinger, an AI red-team solution used to find and assess vulnerabilities in AI systems. Starfort is positioned to control risks in live services.

Raonsecure is pushing its OneShield AI safe guardrail solution, which detects and blocks malicious prompt attacks such as prompt injection and jailbreaks. The product can also automatically identify personal information entered into AI and anonymize or mask it.

SelectStar works on AI reliability assessment consulting, automated red teaming and small language model (sLM)-based guardrail technology, and supports performance and safety evaluations of companies' AI models and services.

Genon vice president and CTO Myung Dae-woo said security will become a core factor determining the reliability and competitiveness of AI services as enterprise AI use expands.

Background

Genon is scheduled to list on KOSDAQ in November 2026. AI guardrails are expanding from controlling text input and output to controlling AI agent actions as agents spread.
