Google Launches AI Edge Foresight, a Mac-Only Note-Taking App

Google AI Edge Foresight transcribes Google Meet, Zoom and offline conversations and runs the AI locally on the user's Mac, with no cloud upload.

Google launched a new AI note-taking app called Google AI Edge Foresight this week, and it is only available on Mac for now, according to CNET.

Foresight can transcribe conversations from Google Meet, Zoom and in-person conversations. It also works with PDFs, Google Docs, Microsoft Office formats, plain text, Markdown and web bookmarks.

The app processes transcription and audio locally on the user's computer, and Google says files, recordings and transcripts are not moved to the cloud.

Live Assistance answers questions as you work

Foresight includes a Live Assistance feature that automatically answers questions. Google says the tool's background technology has low battery drainage.

Most AI note-taking apps, including Scribe, Granola and Notion AI, rely on the cloud to access and store data, while local-first options such as Meetily and Whisper AI are built to limit cloud privacy risks.
