Google Launches Gemini 4 Carbon, Limited to Cybersecurity Firms

Google says the new frontier model tops the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra.

Google released a new frontier AI model called Gemini 4 Carbon on October 28, 2026, making it available only to a select group of cybersecurity defense companies. According to theverge.com, Google says the model brings significant gains in coding, agentic tasks and cybersecurity.

The company says Gemini 4 Carbon ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (v5.0) benchmark, ahead of Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 and OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra. It also places first on SEC-bench Pro, which measures the ability to find real-world bugs, and on ExploitGym, a benchmark for turning vulnerabilities into exploits, according to Google.

Google says the model halves unsupported claims compared with Argon. Gemini 4 Carbon is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

Access will widen beyond the initial cybersecurity partners, with Google planning to expand the model to other partners within its Fairwind Program.

Following Argon
