Google adds plus menu to Gemini Live on Android
The new button opens a carousel with Share screen, Photos, Files and Drive actions; the update arrives in Google app version 17.68.
Google is rolling out a redesign to Gemini Live on Android that adds a plus button to the interface, according to 9to5google.com. The button appears on the left once Gemini Live is activated inside the app.
Tapping the plus button opens a carousel containing Share screen, Photos, Files and Drive actions, giving users a more direct route to adding images and files to a session.
The camera button has moved next to the waveform. The microphone mute switch and the close button on the right side of the screen are unchanged.
The plus menu is not currently available when Gemini Live is launched from the Gemini overlay, and it has not yet arrived on iOS.
The update is live with Google app stable version 17.68. Earlier in October 2026, Google made other interface updates to the Gemini app.
