Grokipedia, the AI-powered online encyclopedia from SpaceXAI, has started showing recent updates to its articles after a months-long pause in reviewing edits. The change was first spotted by theverge.com.
The page for Barack Obama now carries a note that it was fact-checked by Grok two days ago, while Elon Musk's page was fact-checked within the last hour. Other pages remain stale: Honolulu was last fact-checked 7 months ago.
User submissions are also moving again. A suggested update to the Gears of War: E-Day page to note an October 6th release date was accepted and is now listed. A requested article about Meta's Muse chatbot is marked "In Review."
Background
The pause drew attention in August, when Lawfare reported that articles on Grokipedia hadn't reviewed edits since April. Grokipedia's v0.2 technically launched in November, and Elon Musk hasn't posted on X about the project since February.
Last week, Benji Taylor posted that "We haven't forgotten about Grokipedia" and that "v0.2 will be better than ever." About a year ago, Musk claimed Grokipedia would be "a massive improvement over Wikipedia."
