Gurman: Apple's Own Home Camera Is Separate From LG Deal, Due 2027
Mark Gurman says Apple's privacy-centric home camera is a standalone product, distinct from the Apple-LG smart home camera partnership.
Mark Gurman said Apple's rumored home camera is separate from the company's smart home camera partnership with LG, and that the privacy-centric device is expected in 2027. AppleInsider reported the remarks.
Gurman's comments distinguish two efforts that had been conflated: a camera Apple is developing on its own, which he described as privacy-centric, and the Apple-LG collaboration on smart home devices that includes security cameras.
No specifications, pricing or release date beyond the 2027 window were given for Apple's own camera.
