Hilscher launches comX 90CN connector-less communication module

The 30x70mm module routes its network interface through the automation device's baseboard and runs on Hilscher's netX 90 controller.

Hilscher has released the comX 90CN, a version of its comX 90 embedded communication module that carries no network connector on the module itself. The company announced the launch on October 19, 2026, according to datanet.co.kr.

The connector is instead routed through the automation device's baseboard. The module measures 30x70mm.

The comX 90CN is built on Hilscher's netX 90 multiprotocol communication controller and supports major industrial Ethernet protocols on a single hardware platform, along with OPC UA and MQTT for IIoT communication. Users switch to the industrial protocol they need by installing the corresponding firmware.

Hilscher lists hardware-based encryption, secure boot, and certificate, key and user management among the module's functions. The company says the design serves both new device designs and the migration of existing devices.

Customers can choose between the comX 90CA, which has an integrated network connector, and the comX 90CN, which places the interface directly on the baseboard.

Quick answers

What is the difference between the comX 90CN and comX 90CA?
