HP Survey Finds AI Creating More UK Jobs Than It Replaces

46% of British desk-based workers say AI has positively affected their lives, according to a global HP survey of nearly 20,000 workers.

HP has released a new survey indicating that AI is creating more jobs than it replaces in UK businesses, according to techradar.com. The survey covered nearly 20,000 desk-based workers globally.

In the UK, 52% of desk-based workers now use employer-provided AI tools daily or weekly, up from 38% last year. 46% of British respondents believe AI has positively affected their lives, and 45% use agentic AI systems.

Three in five UK business leaders say AI adoption has created new roles or teams within their organizations. At the same time, 10% of UK business leaders say AI is primarily replacing or reducing roles, while 19% expect it to create new roles over the next one to two years.

Globally, 59% of business leaders and 62% of IT decision-makers report job creation from AI. However, AI agent use remains uneven: 71% of IT decision-makers and 56% of business leaders use AI agents, compared with 38% of knowledge workers.

Among UK knowledge workers, 38% worry AI could replace their roles, and 37% worry about being replaced by someone with more AI knowledge.
