IPA releases Data/AI sample questions for 2027 digital skills exam

Japan's IPA has published sample questions for the Data/AI area of the Professional Digital Skills Examination, which combines two existing tests.

Japan's Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) released sample questions for the Data/AI area of the Professional Digital Skills Examination (provisional name) on October 30, 2026, according to internet.watch.impress.co.jp. The new certification exam is scheduled to start in fiscal 2027.

The examination will cover three areas: Management, Data/AI, and Systems. Samples for the Management and Systems areas were released in August 2026.

The Data/AI area reorganises the existing Database Specialist Examination and Applied Information Technology Engineer Examination. IPA also published draft syllabi outlining the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills required for each exam area.
