Apple's iPhone Duo Foldable: $999 Inner Screen Repair Cost
Apple's repair estimates show the iPhone Duo's inner display costs $999 to fix, while other damage is $1,499, per estimates spotted by MacRumors.
Apple has published out-of-warranty repair pricing for its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. According to estimates spotted by MacRumors, fixing a cracked inner display costs $999 without AppleCare Plus, while the catch-all 'other damage' category is priced at $1,499.
The inner-screen figure is more than double what Samsung charges for the equivalent repair on the Galaxy Z Fold 8. That repair costs $419, according to the same estimates.
The iPhone Duo itself is priced at $1,999 and is set to launch later this month. Apple has not yet announced a specific launch date. The company's repair pricing page lists the two costs as the only published options for the device outside of AppleCare Plus.
AppleCare Plus, Apple's extended warranty plan, typically reduces repair fees for covered devices. The company's published estimates cover repairs without that coverage.
